Comedy Works News Faces 2008

COMEDY WORKS NEW FACES CONTEST
1226 15TH Street, Denver

Every Monday night starting May 12th until September 22nd, Comedy Works is out to find Denver's top comedic talent. The winner gets bragging rights, two airline tickets, & lots of cool swag.  The first 11 weeks consist of the preliminary rounds with 10-11 comics giving there best to try and move on to the second round (the top three from each week will advance). Think you’re a good speller?  Join 105.5 JACK-FM, 102.3 KCUV and representatives from Denver area businesses and organizations who think they’re good spellers at this fun downtown event on Friday, May 16 in Skyline Park, 16th and Arapahoe Streets.

Musical entertainment, food/beverages and celebrity judges are sure to make this a fun, memorable event.  Celebrity judges will include G Brown from 102.3 KCUV, Bill Husted from The Denver Post and Patty Calhoun from Westword.

Event entry fees from Corporate Teams will benefit adult and family literacy programs offered through The Learning Source.  However, there is no charge to come and watch the fun on May 16.  For more information, or to sign up a team, visit www.coloradoliteracy.org.

Join the 105.5 JACK-FM Street Team at the 12TH Annual Erie Town Fair. The Erie Town Fair features a Hot Air Balloon Fest, BBQ, Barbeque, Beer Garden with live entertainment, Root Beer Garden, Ribs-n-Bibs Tailgate Party, Fireworks Display, and entertainment for the entire family. This year there will be 60 hot air balloons launching from Vista Ridge Golf Club. Children's activities and games will be located at Coal Creek Park. For more information, please click HERE


The Conflict Center

The “8th Annual Enchanted Gardens of Northwest Denver” garden tour hosted by The Conflict Center
June 14 from 9am-4pm

The Conflict Center invites you to stroll among some of the most lush and fragrant residential gardens in Northwest Denver Saturday, June 14 from 9am-4pm.  The Conflict Center is a 20-year-old non-profit organization, located in Northwest Denver, dedicated to violence prevention in schools and the community as a whole.  Proceeds form the event will support The Conflict Center’s violence prevention programs at North High School and other Northwest Denver schools.

Come meet your neighbors and local gardeners and learn their secrets to beautiful flowers, foliage, and landscaping.  Gardens on this year’s tour feature vegetables, flowers, herbs, fountains, and unique structures.  This event attracts garden enthusiasts from all over Colorado, and allows both expert and novice gardeners to share and gain gardening tips, techniques, and new ideas.

Mile High Hunt

105.5 JACK-FM is excited to sponsor the 3RD Annual Mile High Hunt!  Which means it’s time to start breaking in those Mile High high-tops, pumping some iron-clad costume creativity and exercising that LoDo-loving noodle!

The Mile High Hunt is a wacky, fun annual team scavenger hunt that takes place ALL OVER LoDo.  Teams race against the clock – and each other – to solve clues and raise funds for Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation.  They compete for not only best-time prizes, but also BEST TEAM THEME prizes!
