When a sports fan is in his (her) car, and can’t get to a television, the next best thing is to tune into a local sports report on a radio station. So what really makes for a good quality sports radio station and reporter? You don’t want to be bored out of your mind just listening to somebody read a sheet of paper with stats, so what are you really looking for when waiting to hear the score from your favorite team’s game?
A great sports radio station will have a great radio personality. Not just somebody who knows about sports or has a good “radio” voice; but, when listening to sports radio, listeners are looking for somebody who can engage the news, and give the listener the facts and analysis in a clear and concise manner, while still being fun to listen to. When the broadcaster throws in a little humor, or throws in additional sports facts, that the listener wants to hear, this is the best way to engage the listener, and make for a unique and entertaining sports broadcast.
Listeners want to hear somebody who really knows about the sport, but want the personality to also have love and passion for that sport. There is nothing worse than listening to a lecture when you want to get the news on your sports team. You want the radio personality to be enthusiastic, informative, concise, and yet give you the information you want to hear.
